Notorious B.I.G Freestyle Dropped By Pepsi
Written by Live 89FM on October 21, 2020
Its been 23 years since the death of Notorious B.I.G. Known as “Biggie”. Since his untimely passing, he has continued to claim the crown as the greatest MC of all time. Unfortunately we weren’t left with much material. We’ve heard a bunch of remakes & remixes but nothing exclusive. Until now
In a surprising move, Pepsi the worlds largest soda distributor had a trick up it’s sleeve. It’s wasn’t a new soda either. Apparently they had an unreleased Notorious B.I.G freestyle and turned it into a new commercial for the brand. Dated from 1997 and features his former disk jockey “Dj Enuff”, the smooth freestyle is done in true Biggie fashion.
Production on the track is unknown, but audiences and mixtape djs (if that’s still a thing) will be sure to pump this new track and radio stations across the world, reminding us once why why we loved him so dearly
Biggie’s life was cut short during a drive by shooting on March, 9th 1997. The case has been high profile but has gone unsolved. In his career, he sold over 28 million records having only released 1 album alive, 3 posthumous. His double album effort “Life After Death” has been certified diamond by the RIAA.
In the streaming era, B.I.G has gained over a half a bill streams (500 million) on 10 songs alone. Not including the rest of his catalog. Showcasing the timelessness of his music. He was recently inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall A Fame, is in the top 50 all time hip hop albums and artist list by Rolling Stone and much more. His impact continues to shine on the world many years after his death
